Le ZHANG

Like a white cloud floating in, I saw the girl in a white dress coming. Her name is Zhang Le. She was the youngest dancer in the Sydney Chinese Dance Company at that time, and is also an indispensable young dancer with comprehensive development potential in the Sydney Chinese Dance Company today.

Zhang Le started studying dance at the Jilin Art Institute at the age of 9. His first teacher was Li Shunyang, vice chairman of the Jilin Dancers Association. At the age of 11, he studied under the famous Chinese dancer Wang Xiaoyan. At the age of 17, he came to Australia to join the Sydney Chinese Dance Company and became an excellent solo dancer in our company.

After coming to Australia, Zhang Le studied at Concord High School. During the two years of high school, he won six outstanding academic awards and the DUX Awards when he graduated. Zhang Le studied translation at the University of Sydney for undergraduate studies. He was on the Dean’s Merit List for three consecutive years. In 2012, he won the William Chiu Award for Interpreting & Translation and the Dean’s Medal for Outstanding Scholarship. He also passed the Australian National Level 3 Translation Certificate and became an honorary member of the Golden Key International Honor Society in the same year.

After that, she studied for a Master of Media Practice at the University of Sydney and interned at 2AC Australian Chinese Radio and Australian Oriental Chinese Radio. Since 2009, she has been nominated by the principal of Concord High School and selected by the New South Wales Education Department to become an International Student Ambassador. She has been in this position ever since, attending various state education department meetings and activities to promote educational exchanges between China and Australia.

Zhang Le’s father is a comprehensive artist who combines culture and calligraphy. Under the influence of her father, Zhang Le has become a girl with connotation and artistic temperament. Zhang Le has the qualities of a standard dancer: a handsome face and a slender figure, always a highlight on the stage. She has a solid foundation in dance, and is proficient in Chinese classical traditional dance, ballet, and modern dance. Her graceful and soft dance posture on the stage, and her sometimes soaring movements are surprising and unforgettable. Although she suffered from a waist injury during training, it did not reduce her love and pursuit of dance in the slightest. “Dance art is an indispensable part of my life, it is the light of my life,” Zhang Le once said. In Zhang Le’s eyes, dancers are the most glorious identity in the world.

In addition to dance, she has a wide range of hobbies and is very talented in languages. In addition to English, she also taught herself Cantonese and Japanese. She loves literature. During her university years, the Australian New Times published a literary academic review written by Zhang Le. She also has a deep attainment in stone carving, and many calligraphy lovers love her seals. She doesn’t talk much, but she is very serious and organized in her work. She never cares about personal gains and losses and is humble and honest.

This lovely and pretty girl always dances in the wind like the flawless white dress she wears, like a white cloud flying from the horizon, agile, beautiful and free. Let us hope that her graceful dance can continue to be performed freely on the Australian stage.
