Lisa is a long standing member and vice director of the Sydney Chinese Dance Group. Lisa’s dance expertise can be attributed to the training she undertook as a child to be part of a professional ballet dance group.
Speaking of Lisa’s dancing, her biggest strengths lie in her strong fundamentals, her great energy and the ability to convey a detailed portrait of her character. Lisa has been able to absorb and exhibit the flavor of each type of dance she has performed including Flamenco dance, Belly dance, traditional Chinese dance and Ballet dance.
Lisa was instrumental in constructing the ghost dance sequences of the recently highly successful dance spectacular Flower Goddesses of the Tang Dynasty. She was central in the choreography and directing of the ghost sequences, forming some of the most enthralling parts of the show. Lisa’s performance as one of the captains of the ghosts inspired her fellow dancers and lead them in creating the perfect mood and cohesion for the show.
The vice director is an unselfish professional when it comes to selecting her roles within the show. Highly valuing the quality of the entire show rather than maximising her own time centre stage. That is not to say she does not have the ability to perfect even the smallest roles to shine brightly.
As a dance enthusiast, Lisa is always striving to improve her art. We cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next time.
