Australian Chinese successfully performed the first large-scale charity performance of classical mythological dance drama – Tanghua Fairy

The Australian Chinese Real Estate and Construction Association will host a wonderful large-scale mythological classical dance drama charity performance at the Sydney Town Hall on May 29, 2016. With the support of the NSW State Government. Proceeds are donated to the Rehabilitation Society – a non-profit Chinese cancer support center.
The Rehabilitation Society is Australia’s first non-profit-making Chinese cancer information center and support organization. The association was established in 1995 by two cancer survivors and a caregiver. It adheres to the purpose of “fighting cancer through this method and rebuilding life together”, and provides support services to cancer patients and their families. The establishment of the Rehabilitation Association mainly aims to help Chinese cancer patients and their families relieve their emotions and reduce their worries, encourage them to fight cancer with a positive attitude, and improve their quality of life.
The dance drama “Tanghua Fairy” is adapted from the 52-chapter classical mythological novel of the same name by the Australian Chinese writer and poet Mr. Luo Shan. The Sydney Chinese Dance Company adapted it into six large-scale mythological classical dance dramas. The plot describes the story of more than a dozen beautiful flower fairies descending from the sky on Baihua Island during the prosperous Tang Dynasty. They battled wits and courage with the demons that harmed the people, and justice finally defeated evil.
The dance drama strives to be innovative, and the music has both Chinese classical charm and modern feel. The dance choreography incorporates traditional Chinese folk dance and classical dance. Silk dance and sword dance. Contemporary dance, ballet, yoga, Chinese Tai Chi and martial arts.
The play’s epic love story, confusing mythological conception, original stage design, and colorful costumes will all bring shocking visual enjoyment and positive spiritual power to the audience.
The Australian Chinese Real Estate and Construction Association is Australia’s national professional association for the real estate, construction and related industries. Since its establishment, it has adhered to the purpose of “serving the majority of Chinese real estate, construction and related industry enterprises” and actively provided services to various enterprises, organizations and personnel in the industry.
